I agree James, Alasdair you should certainly try to acquire the full set :)

That will mean having a Xsara too ;)

Then he needs to get them in LX, SX and Executive models (if there are any more X models or trim levels feel free to add them here!).

You wouldn't want a CX at any price - they can rust faster than a 70s Italian...

That paint looks flatter than a very flat thing that's just been run over by tarmac flattener

Yep, after the 205, 106 and AX/Saxo the 206 really was crap... The 207 is marginally better but not much...

Alasdair, that really does look a potentially good ZX...

I look forward to its transformation :)

Had a "go" at the bonnet today to see how it would come up. Just a few passes of some high cut compound and a scratch remover, no sealer or polish on it yet.

Yeh.....but on its last night before SORNing it, the bloody ACTIVA has decided to die, had to tow it back up my hill (backwards :) ).....seems like it does not cold British weather.
Will try it later and see if it starts.

Good stuff.

Loved my Volcane TD. Even when I picked up a brand new Leon FR 150 in 2004 (company car), I still preferred the turn-in of the Volcane. And the seats are fantastic.

Once got overtaken by a 1.9 on my way to work when I had my first ZX. It was a silly manoeuvre, but it was clearly very quick and spat some flame from the exhaust as it went. Always fancied driving a petrol Volcane after that, but never have.

Hope you enjoy it!

Even the lowly Aura TD turned in really, really, well. The trick rear axle meant you could just hurl it into any kind of bend and it'd just go round it, unless you were really really really silly, then you'd get a bit of understeer, but it was so light (1100kg?) that it handled so well.
