Some lovely cars in that auction :D I could have been very tempted by the Pug 205 Convertible and the Austin A40 Farina... Always had a soft spot for those...

While the streaming vid is still up, If you want to have a few minutes seeing what you could have won, and the auctioneers info, the video starts at the Daimler lot 749 if you want to see it go through the sale.
Looks a very decent car with a local provenance. Not quite "one owner vicar's daughter" but pretty good. Just click to watch on youtube! at the lot 749 bit.

Thanks Neil, that was definitely a car that just might have hooked me had I been here so to be honest it's probably good that I wasn't! :-D
After all who needs a gas guzzler to go to the shops in these days? :-D

Here is a potentially cheap car as a first classic. I say that because it is in a general sale rather than one of the special classic car sales that we usually find cars in. I may even go for a look at it before the sale. May well be worth watching this one:

I like that, the Rootes Audax wearing a posh frock :D The colour is magical and suits it perfectly... Back when I was 15 I sprayed my NSU Quickly in the very same colour as I liked it so much...

I wonder why Rootes called that generation of their cars the Audax? I much more associate the term with hard long distance unsupported cycling timed reliability challenges... Maybe Rootes felt they were especially good for long distance expeditions where support and aid may not be readily available... A reliable and trustworthy car in other words...

The later Arrow series were, I guess, so named as they looked sleek and would likely fly like an arrow,,,

Hidden away on UK TV play, but well known in these circles, the glorious Bangers and Cash now onto series 6 and good as ever.

I hadn't realised Series 6 was available, and have been on catch-up and in series 6 episode 11, they do a crop of excellent cars from a local restorer Stan, including a lovely white Renault Caravelle highlighted previously in the thread here.

Nice turnaround from its last appearance at ACA 7 months ago, where it sold for £3,510 inclusive of Premium.

Memories Neil, I worked through all those models/changes.

Yes indeed, such a car should be petrol powered... I believe there was a 3.0 V6 petrol but it's allegedly quite rare...

The big problem with the C6 is the cost (and likely availability) of some spares...

Definitely destined to be a classic one of these days if not already...
