Hmmmm. Couple of interesting items there AND Thursday's my shopping night BUT I'll be on shank's/a bus, which will somewhat limit any purchases.

Curious about a "3-way" hacksaw though (not as though I haven't got enough!).

Got one of those phone holders though, might be the previous generation, although came fro Lidl's earlier in the year; doesn't suit my purposes though & save me looking for the receipt - £5 anyone?

It's reversible as well! Only time I bought a cheap torque wrench it didn't work in reverse, pain because mtb cranks are reverse thread on one side.

Haven't tried it yet but I bought a multi-socket ratchet 'tool' from Aldi a few days ago.
Four ratcheted sockets each with a smaller one inside, on a spring, so it moves out of the way if a larger nut is presented.
Must try it out - what can I break?

I was thinking more in terms of experimenting with it at work.
Seeing as I generally have to use my own tools on their busted rubbish it seems only fair.

Well, Aldi are doing a few car bits next Thursday (22/10), including a torque wrench;

https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thu-22-oct/

You have to scroll down the page a bit, as there are also a load of kitchen bits for sale.

And DIY bits on Sunday.... going to buy another battery drill - had one before and it was good value for £20 - till it went for a swim in the paddling pool :twisted:

Years ago now I bought a pillar drill from Aldi and whilst it's not the last word in precision or quality it's fine for what i do with it and still going very strong...

While Lidl and Aldi equipment is not of the highest quality, for the price you pay the quality is very good. I would say that you definitely get your moneys worth, and a bit more.

Got to agree with that James.
For the most part I don't require premium quality tools and have a knack of losing them anyway so for the most part Aldi gear is quite adequate.

Generally I'd agree but last evening I had a look at a 52 piece toolkit which, in fairness, was quite a nice starter/back-up package - but compared with some of the offers available from regular dealers at autojumbles, unusually, it seemed a bit expensive.
