It works on pipes because the overlapping surface contact area is so large, it is also a filler free plastic. Edge to edge on a fairing ? there are better products out there such as the flexible fillers and "hot wire" staples for strength.

Well, I used copper filled RTV (locktight) sealant and have used rivets to compress the two parts of the Header Tank together, it is now baking in the "warming oven" of the Rayburn to cure.

I took some time to throw some quick gloss coats over the "faux" wood paint effect on the instalment(s) binnacle I have been wasting time with :)

That binnacle does benefit from that effect.

1x Cooked, cured and riveted header tank. I will leave it 24 hours and pressure test with hot water tomorrow.

Looking promising Sticky ... I ordered up a couple of spares and one of them came with a broken top spigot pipe. Where it went is anyones guess. Do you think this is fixable?

Just the little (one of) pipes ? Can you insert thin wall copper pipe in and use a Polyvinyl adhesive/high temp/full "hard set" to seal that to the tank ?

What is the purpose of that complicated piece of grey plastic in the middle of the expansion chamber ? I've always wondered what it is for. It can't just be a level guide, as it doesn't even do that job very well!

My bet is both bubble reduction and baffles to allow the fitment of the water level sensor (that is not wired correctly by the factor :) )
