I was surprised to be honest Jim, I have not touched it for ages and ages, it has held its code and once the fuel was pumping (I have had the pump out remember) she fired up fine.
STOP lamp off after about 15 secs,............bonus.

I want to move it out of the way because I have a Cam-Belt and a Gearbox oil change on the C5x7 to do soon, it is currently parked in my "ramp" bay and needs to become a security-by-blocking car for the winter :)

I will cut here.
Image

Using a Dremmel and a large cutting disk I removed the top.

Ones the mounts are set up and metal supports are in place, the top part will be replaced and blended with windscreen sealant and finished to look like it is original.

this allows access to the top mounts and will give the few mm of needed clearance.

(glass will be replaced with clear thermoplastic blow down sheet)

Just a thought. Why not use fibre optic 'pipes'? I have seen some EPoS units (mainly those made by Par) that have the status LED on the system board, but with a flexible length of plastic (about 1/8th inch thick, and 6 inches long) going from that LED to the position on the casing where the light appears.

It all looks a little "rough" at the moment, but it is all just in temporary materials and hand cut.~

Re: LeD and Fibre optics, I have been thinking about this to replace the DRL's with a pair of brightly illuminated chevrons :)

Well, both lamp units do fit (just !)

Mounting method is worked out and will be easy and will also be secure/preserve the OEM look.

Now onto getting the mounts cut neatly/correct thickness of ally, eg NOT with my angle grinder :) and onto the glass replacement.

Dip is inside the main so as to allow good spacing/vision of the indicators

Giving me ideas there Davie :)

More work on the headlamps.
I have now worked out how to reuse the original headlamp inner chrome trims.
