Hi Mike,
The ones that I used are rated at 8000mcd super brights, and are supposed to be white, but there is a slight blue tinge to the output.
As regard to the comparison to a filament lamp, this is difficult to access, due to the light pattern which is different, these have an viewing angle of +/- 10 degrees, a forward current of 30ma, forward voltage 3.3volts.
They are ok for the map reading, internal lights and rear number plate, but I am not too sure about the side repeaters, due to the narrow angle.
I would guess it's similar to the 2.2 W filament lamp.
Cheers

Any chance you can explain what led bulbs i need for heater controls and do they just push in???<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><i>Originally posted by uhn113x</i>

12 Volt LEDs from Maplins are less then 30 pence each.

S'right, but have you looked at the ratings? Vf max = 14 volts. Assuming that your alternator is reasonably within tolerance, the output voltage is normally above this, and can rise to about 14.8. Ok, it will not blow the LEDs instantly, but will shorten their life, and one of the reasons for converting from bulbs is that you will never need to replace them.

Thanks for that, Brian - I will probably do some experimenting with the dash lighting; probably change to red LEDs as they are cheap (and have a lower Vf than white). Will look like a BigMoneyWorry!
