Okay guys 🤣
When changing the steering rack on a Citroën, you may get ABS / ESP system errors after installation.
Don’t waste time checking fuses and wiring like I did for 2 hours 😅
The fix is simple:
👉 Do Steering Wheel Position / Wheel Alignment Calibration via diagnostics
👉 Then clear fault codes
👉 Done — no more ABS/ESP errors
We used Launch diagnostics:
Special Functions ? Steering Angle / Wheel Position Calibration
Important note:
On Volkswagen group cars, this calibration often runs automatically after rack replacement (turn wheel full left ? full right).
On Citroën, you must do it manually via diagnostics, otherwise ABS/ESP faults stay active.
Hope this saves someone time 👍

Knocking noise appeared again. Even worse than before. We inspected the outer tie rods and i have never seen ball joint so stiff, it was clicking and was transimiting that click clack sound through the steering rack, i suspect that stiff ball joint on both outer tie rods contributed to steering rack leaking, because i tell you i couldn't move the ball joint with my hand, only with steel wrench. I will provide a video down below. We changed both outer tie rods, and tried it and noise disappeared completely. We won the battle!
