Spoke to my local dealer, £250 for it's next interim service in December (3 year 20k miles) but £650 for the next one "because it's a hybrid"
I think the warranty can wait for now
Thanks for heads up, however, I have a garage near me that will do a PHEV service for £180 which will be the same as the Citroen £250. But the year 4 service is a bit steep.....!!
Then again there's a very good chance I won't have it for it's fourth service anyway. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good car and put together well, but I'm fast going off Stellantis.............. .

I've taken out the service plan, next three (interim. major, interim) for £750 so compared to the dealer price it's an easy decision.
That's a good price, but are you sure it covers the 4th year service?
But.
Here's my thinking, services 1-3 are all about the same except the 2nd had brake fluid change. So 1st @ £350 * , 2nd @ £280, 3rd @ £250, total around £880. So the price of £750 is good for the three 'Normal' services. But seems too cheap if they are going to include the Coolant and brake fluid change as part of the 4th. I think you really need to get it in print that this will cover the 4th service.
Gary, I don't mean to offend, but its just me being 'tight' and following the two mantras, "if its too good to be true...." and "Everyone's after your money"
*This was dealership internal billing as it was the parts managers car.

Service plans look good value but I wonder if the current dealer/authrised agent network will still be there in 3 years time? Here in South Cambridge we went from full 2 dealers to just one authorised service agent, which stopped c.3 years ago. There is one very good service agent 20 miles away, but if they close its miles to anywhere else and they are pretty impersonal - call centre for bookings etc and no half day slots. Plus the ones that are left are busy and have huge lead times - I had an inconsequential recall - not the stop drive one - on a 4 month old car and it was abouit 6 weeks before I could get it in. So for my first service due late March I might need to get it booked in January. Not sure I would want to pay upfront for a plan I might not be able to use after the first year or two and would certainly be looking at it in detail to see if it could be used at any/all Citroen dealerships if the one I bought it from ceased. Who is the contract with - the dealer or Citroen UK?
So the price of £750 is good for the three 'Normal' services - yes but not as good as it looks. If you put that £750 into a decent deposit account at 4% and drew it out in 3 tranches over 4 years then it is worth about £810, which is halfway to pay as you go, plus by year 3 or 4 you might be selling the car or shopping round for independents once its out of warranty. You have 'fixed the price' though unless there are some weasel words in there to protect Citroen, so at least insulating you from future price rises.
I'm not saying its a 'bad' deal, but its not as good as it appears. Plus I bet the service desk or salesperson get a commission for every one they sell so of course they will tell you to do it.
I did keep the extended warranty going on our second hand Citroens from authorised dealers because it was bundled with breakdown and recovery and seemed good value for 2 or 3 years after which the price shot up and I stopped it, but I don't think the same bundled package is available for brand new cars.

We once had a service plan but moved house part way through and about 130 miles away and could not be transferred to another Citroen dealer. All we had to do was cancel the plan and got a refund for the unused services, I think it was cancelled via by the dealer but it was in 2016 so I might have it a bit wrong. The plan was probably underwritten by an insurance company and not Citroen and they might pay lower labour rates so they all make money.
For the service plan it is worth checking what it includes for each service since brake fluid, fuel filter and coolant changes might be an extra - our Peugeot dealer has them as an extra in their service prices. Also check what a dealer major service is since it might be different to a Citroen major service - something we once found out and the dealer one had less in it.

Good thought. This from the Citroen UK Website, you can find quite a lot under 'owners' from the menu bar. Dealer plans might differ but might not be transferrable. I bet the big retailers like Vertu have a plan for all their brands.
Why worry about needing to budget for your next service? We can help, with a Citroën Fixed Price ServiceCare Plan etc etc
Brake Fluid Change and MOTs are available as an additional cost
I really, don't blame you for taking the deal, it's seems really good, especially at that price.
I may follow, but then as I said. I may not have the car in 18 months.

I'm now within their "80 days of the original warranty ending" so I should be able to extend the warranty, and as I guessed, the website still won't list any warranty options for the car
I called them and the quote is £398 for a years extended warranty, he was unable to say why the website doesnt list any information.
I have until the end of Feb to take out the warranty, but I'm not sure I will bother at that price

Possibly you could ask your dealer what breaks on your model of car to see if an extended warranty might be worth having if it will be covered.
The dealer, either won't know, or won't tell.
They don't know as there are very few C5X's in the UK, they stopped making righthand drive models last year. I also think that all major failures have probably already happened.
They won't tell as they want to sell the cover and keep the authorised dealer name tag.

Yeh the dealer said they hadnt had a c5x in for a service for ages. They even sold me some mats and roof bars an well under cost price as they had been sat there for a couple of years
