Do single speed fans not have resistors?

There is no need for single speed, the motor may have a resistor in its housing to control the voltage but single speed generally will just run when the controlling relay is energised.

It may have a 'chopper' fan which car be made to operate at any speed (up to its maximum) using OCR control.
I can check what it has if i have the VIN

So what could be the cause of P0483 fault?

If you read this definition of the fault you will see that it may be caused by a problem in the aircon circuitry which may follow in that you said your system is not gassed. https://www.carobdcodes.com/peugeot-p04 ... tion.shtml

Yes, the resistors are not inside the covered part, they’re fitted to the top left of the relays pictured in 6.8, where you can see the additional pairs of wires going in that pic - they're literally the plugs on the back of each of the two resistors and you just see the back of one of the resistors itself, right at the top of the pic. The other resistor is directly below it, hidden from view in the pic. If you have them, they are relatively easy to see.sydo wrote: 16 Sep 2025, 16:44 I opened the cover in pictures 6.4 and 6.8, there is only the socket and the relay.

Yes he can. Don't worry.

Showing as having single fan with integral control
Parts diagram not showing any resistors.
Will try digging out a wiring diagram.

Wiring diagram for system, you can see the speed control is built into the fan assembly

This means that there is no fan resistor in this system.wheeler wrote: 17 Sep 2025, 14:55 Wiring diagram for system, you can see the speed control is built into the fan assembly

Correct, the fan motor & speed controller are the same unit (component 1513)

Re: 2007 C5 MK2 P0483 FAULT
I clear this error code using OBD. This error doesn't appear or occur during normal use. It only occurs when the engine temperature is high enough to activate the fan. The fan runs, but sometimes it runs after I turn the engine off. It stops when I lock or unlock the doors, then the fan starts running again and never stops. I've seen it run for hours.
