All this can also be recognised on the normal display.
Fuel consumption increases significantly during regeneration and in coasting mode fuel consumption does not drop to 0.00, but fluctuates between 1.00 and 2.00 litres.

Not sure on the distance for mine, Wife drives it a lot and never says. When I am in if it comes on I try to make sure I keep RPM High and dont stop driving till it goes out.... Defeats the object of reducing pollution in my opinion. But manufacturers know best !

I know what you mean about pollution, makes me laugh when the dpf gets flushed out , mainly down a drain ! Strange world were living in .

DPF Assisted Regeneration indicated by DIY LED indicator

Unread post by aspire_helen »

I fitted an LED into the drivers door mirror housing some years ago. Of course it only lights up when "regeneration assistance" is required, otherwise passive regeneration occurs without indication.
The LED has allowed me to determine that my car is demanding regeneration assistance precisely every 745-750 miles (12 successive occasions since 2023) indicating the ECU has reverted to a "distance strategy" independently of the DPF pressure differential. So, when the LED illuminates I try to run the car up a nearby dual carriageway at higher revs to assist the regen. Typically, it takes about 10 minutes at 60-70mph, during which the LED illuminates and distinguishes numerous times.
The current DPF has done 11,000miles (191,000 to 202,000) and indicated regeneration 19 times.
