Basically check capabilities, price usually dictates the number of vehicle marques and features a system has. Cheaper readers won't be able to read all the constructor-specific system codes.

Yeah looking like over £100 for one, how much would a garage charge to check the fault and which tyre it's on? Similar?PaulC5 wrote: 05 Nov 2024, 13:21 You will need to get a code reader that says it does TPMS on a Citroen but it may not be cheap. The low cost readers usually just do engine fault codes that can affect the emissions and put the engine management light on.

Re: Tyre under inflation monitoring fault
TPMS reports that it does not work. The system does not work. It is not the sensors that are faulty, but the signal receiver that is not working. You need to find it and check it. I do not know where it is on that model, but it is usually somewhere under the car. It is subject to the influence of moisture or other damage.
Perhaps proper diagnostics will tell something closer. Lexia 3 with diagbox is suitable, I don't know about others. Maybe you can find someone on the list who has Lexia and is willing to help. There is a list with a map of forum members.

Re: Tyre under inflation monitoring fault
Sorry to jump on this thread. I have a 2017 DS5 with the exact same issue. I have a basic obd reader that tells me its a communication error that's all. And if I clear it down it reoccurs after about 20-30 mins of deiving
Yesterday it's started to work on it's own again for about 2 or 3 hours and then gave the error again.... im wondering is it a loose cable or something but I don't know where the module is

Re: Tyre under inflation monitoring fault
Highly unlikely - there are no cables from the sensors or course, so if there was a fault in the ECU it would affect the entire system. It's almost certain to be one of the sensors - either a weak battery or it needs re-pairing to the ECU. I had this happen several times on my X7 - but if getting the dealer to sort it, advise that from previous experience the technician needs to re-pair all 4 sensors in the session. My tech attempted this 3 times on the problematic sensor, but as soon as I drove off from the dealership it happened again and again - pairing them all again solved the problem.
Bear in mind your vehicle is over 8 years old now and the batteries have about 10 years operational life. But get them re-paired again when you next have it serviced (they may even do it for a nominal fee if at all), assuming you have it dealer-serviced. Mine never charged me.

Re: Tyre under inflation monitoring fault
Dear all,
I have the same issue regarding ECU and sensors. I have disassambled the ECU and configured as mode ABSENT on BSI by Diagbox. However the messege still continue on the dashboard.
Anyone can help me? What did I missed on this configuration?
Tks
