You might find this YouTube video interesting. Although he doesn't reference it I'm pretty sure he's replacing an eMyWay (RT6) unit rather than the earlier MyWay one (faceplate visible at 2m 5s). Not that it should make any difference.

As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

I'm in the same boat. Unit spends 7 mins reading usb stick with 2.86 software on but then returns to original conition, blank screen, CD spinning up every few seconds.

Assume the unit is toast.

Seems odd for it to just completely fail. It's certainly doing something when the USB stick is plugged in.

Did you get any further?

It may mean the internally stored data on the head unit is corrupt and unable to boot.

Is it viable to source a used RT6 and LCD-screen from a "totaled" vehicle? I assume it's not exactly plug-and-play.

If anyone has experience with such a "transplant", I would love to hear more about it.
Have you tried taking the battery off the car for 24 hours? (Not just disconnecting the RT6).

My RT6 was dead - no screen. I accidentally let the battery go flat. Once recharged, the screen started working and the firmware update process worked. As my SD card was trashed, I had to use default config so the display came up in Czech. You need to use the mirascript and dataexplorer utilites (latest version) to enable language change on the head unit and then you can swap it back to your language.
