Don't bank on it! :juggle:

They'll only be able to offer you what they have on the day as they have these booked out well in advance. So best prepare for pygmy conversion surgery in case you get a super-mini! :(

Was reading AndyPhillips69 comments on firmware issues about his C4 x and I have just ordered a new C4 x and was wandering If I could get the car I have ordered from a midlands citroen dealer checked out for similar issues before its delivered to me.

All the dealers have access to the same technical resources in France, so not to worry.

You may even have the updated firmware applied as part of the pre-delivery inspection, but I suggest you call them to check that you are aware of the issues regarding this on new vehicles, and request that they make sure that any revised firmware or interventions are made before delivery John.

Hello, did you ever get it sorted for your car? Android Auto has been working fine on my 73 plate C4 X since I took delivery 3 weeks ago, but i last couple of days the option has disappeared from my touch screen. :-(

Yesterday when I switched it on I had lost all instruments & the touch screen entirely, but managed to sort that today by unplugging the battery.

If you are having issues after disconnecting / reconnecting the battery, go back to the dealer as you may have the same issue with loss of functionality that may require an update.

Hi, original poster here. Yes I eventually got it fixed via a visit to the main dealer (they had the car in for 9 days and gave me a C4 courtesy car in the meantime). The cause was a corrupt or incomplete software update back in January. They knew of 5 C4X with similar issues but the fix relied on the car getting the OTA update (they had to get Stellantis to send direct to my VIN and it took ages to eventually sort).

All seems OK now. As the car has 3 year Warranty, I suggest you get in touch with your local dealer.

I bought a Citroen C4X in June 2025 that developed a Speedometer & Speed Limit display error.

The Speedometer & Speed Limit on both the main display and the Head Up Display intermittently display incorrect values.

Initially I took it back to the dealership who did a software update and said it was fixed but the error was still present immediately I left the dealership. I returned the car to the dealership, who have now had the car for a week, and there appears to be no progress ( the dealership are poor in keeping me updated).

This appears to be a known issue, I would be interested if anyone has the same or similar problems?

Did you get your speedometer sorted?

(C4, not X but likely to be the same)

Not had a speedometer problem but there are frequent errors in the speed limit display which I put down to poor Tom Tom mapping data - I think Tom Tom underpins the Citroen system. It can be eithe way - telling me 20 in a 40, or some random number in a 30. Other places its spot on. I look out for obvious errors (maybe a nice round 80 instead of 50, ah, its Km not mph) but no discernable pattern. Some numbers don't exist as speed limits in any country.

I do worry about OTA updates, which was the trigger for this thread. I've had just one since April, late August, and it asked me to confirm installation or postpone. As I was just driving onto Eurotunnel in Calais I postponed :)*. Did it a couple of days later, saying 'not now' at each startup in between. All fine but I still can't bring myself to trust it. We have a very erratic mobile signal here so I've told my car it can connect to our home wifi (somewhere in settings) - it's normally parked very close to one of my mesh repeaters so I hope it gets reliable data.

Does anyone know if the connect plus built in SIM is 3G or 4G or ???? If its 3G we are all in peril as that network is being switched off area by area.

* A hint for people who travel to France and beyond. Instead of faffing around changing MPH to KPH, save changes and suchlike, then back again when you come home, and doing it for anyone who might drive and has their own profile, you can create a single new profile with the all the settings you want. Then you can sit in the ferry/tunnel queue and just change profiles with one easy step.
