:rofl2: Thanks for the fast reply looks like citron and the websites haven't got a clue what to put into that car?

If you read the above thread then all the paperwork says to replace it with an EFB battery and the websites providing batteries including RAC and AA also when using the registration checker recommend both EFB and AGM

Is it possible to use your contacts to confirm exactly what type of batteries are supposed to go into that make and model of Citroen?

Would you recommend that I email them myself and provide a link to the thread?

The PSA label was a picture from the car and that says EF on it the websites also confirm that EFB is ok and the battery that came with the car appears to be EFB as well

If you are able to clarify the mixed messaging that will be wonderful and much appreciated

Thank you for your help so far look forward to seeing if you can resolve it!

I've ordered the Toptom battery tester which is arriving in a few days and we'll run tests using that as well as the original battery tester above again and post the results hopefully it should all be giving good results by then

If it does turn off that it has to be replaced with an AGM battery then I will email Tanya batteries as well as a number of other places and ask them what is going on!

I would suggest that you consider signing up to the GSF newsletter (on their website). Once you do so you become eligible for discounts of up to 65%. The battery in my C5 became very weak, and needed replacing. I got a Yuasa battery, with a 4 year warranty (that would have been close to £300) for under £99.

No, because you are replacing it (I assume) with the correct type and rating.

Just follow the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure and be aware that it can take 24 hours for the climate control system to fully initialise once the battery has been disconnected.

The only reason for going in would be if someone had previously put a different type of battery in and changed the details to suit.

Thanks I'll have a proper look at these posts when I get home tonight

Stop starting is working fine I've worked out that it doesn't work when the air conditioning was on or the windscreen wipers are working or are on automatic

This makes sense as a handbooks etc say that they need the engine running to provide sufficient power to work

So in summary I I'm being advised on the forum it should be an AGM which I believe

The online websites and the PSA label say it should be an efb

Since it has already been installed and appears to be working fine I'll continue to use it for now I will email them and seek clarification

Suspect what may have happened is that as a company they have switched over to installing AGM batteries even when the car was installed with an EfB battery

I'm basing this on what one of the reception staff at the stellantis dealership told me when I was getting it serviced a couple of weeks ago that they were only installing AGM batteries in all models and makes that had stop start technology

Thank you all for your help so far I will keep you updated with regards the battery tests and any replies I get from stellantis over the next week or two

An AGM battery has a higher specification than an EFB battery and can be used as a replacement. EFB batteries should not be used to replace an AGM battery.

Whether or not the car has been informed of this change, or even if there's an option for AGM as opposed to EFB, I can't say.

If in doubt use AGM.

The tyre pressure label will show what it left the factory with. Specification can change though, its possible that PSA could decide that EFB is not good enough after seeing X amount of early failures so change the spec to AGM.

If i remember right this actually happened with VAG group cars 5 or 6 years ago, they had loads of EFB batteries failing when still under warranty so were getting replaced with AGM.

Hi Adam, Marc is no longer active on the site and you are less likely to get an answer from someone else if you keep raising the same issue on different threads, it simply confuses the situation. Stick with your 'best battery' thread and keep it simple please. :)
