Ha ha, poor choice of words on my perspective! Very happy to be wrong when it's a case of me being over pessimistic

I got the impression, that the primer is THE Game Changer. Tried glueing two pieces of PP without the primer and it failed. With that primer you would be able to use also a two-component glue with much better results.
That's the great feedback too, and what I will remember for future use :)

Too late now but remember seeing some YouTube videos of repairs with a mixture of superglue and baking powder.

And although it wasn't plastic it surprised me that it worked. I had a friend/colleague who had been conscripted into the Swedish navy, he had been an engineer in the merchant marine previously.
He was on an MTB in the Baltic when the engine failed. He said it was a Spitfire engine but couldn't have been as it was a jet turbine.

They had had some contact with the American navy and had been give what was then some experimental cyanoacrylate adhesive only available to the military.

He crawled inside the engine and found that some of the turbine blades had sheared off. Stuck them back on with the glue and they waited 24 hours to be sure it was set then gently motored back to base. The engine had to be lifted out and changed but it did work long enough to get them back to port.

He could fix anything and did so many many times while I knew him. Nice bloke too.

Yes, superglue and baking soda(!) (NaHCO3) go well together. Not the baking powder itself - it contains a.o. starch and some humidity that cures the superglue too early.
