Thank bl88dy goodness I was sitting down when I read your reply.... Thanks for letting me know - I take it that is the price with labour and VAT.. (HOPING [-o< )

I just decided to test the mirror, operation, and my wiring detection was correct. Folding / Unfolding the mirrors produced what I was looking for PLUS & MINUS 10V across the yellow / white pair, and the left hand mirror did what it was told. The Driver door mirror motor is definitely deceased. The nearest to an upside here is that I don't have to carry on removing the door panel.

Thanks again for all the help - advice.

It may be worth checking out your local scrap yards. I have managed to get good working parts for my cars at a fraction of the dealership prices. I recently had to get a replacement boot cover for my C5 estate, and while I don't know how much Citroen would have asked, ebay wanted £150 for it. My local scrappy wanted £20! NO contest (and while it was not new it did match the rest of the car).

You're not paranoid... They ARE out to get you :rofl2:

That is my next port of call. There is also AUTODOC.COM, from whom a complete mirror with correct part number is just under £300.

Cheers for now

I assume you hope to also have a good weekend, 'rummaging' around the scrapyard?

Evening all,
I must express my most grateful thanks to all of you who helped with suggestions and documents. The fault was in the section of the cable that is twisted back and forth every time the mirror is folded or unfolded. I could not get in through thedoor panel, but I managed to dismantle the mirror mechanism from the outside without any damage, found the faulty wire, repaired it, then I opened up the gripping point where the cable loom gets twisted evry time the mirror folds, giving it more space to flex.
Everything is now good.
Thanks once again.

Resurrecting this thread --- I have B1388 'Passengers exterior mirror glass adjustment sensors fault' The symptoms I have are no auto - dip on reverse and if the driver's door adjustment switch is used, it only moves the mirror glass a very short distance. Repeated pressing of the switch will move the mirror to the dersired spot in a succesion of short moves. Also have the U1F00 code.

The driver's mirror is fine and everything else on the passenger side works as it should. What I can't find is any reference regarding the location of the adjustment sensors. Car is a late 2014 2.0 Exclusive Plus, manual.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Mike.
