Do you have a screenshot that shows the values at the right of the screen?

Regarding the MAP or the alternator fault?

The MAP sensor. I don't think it likely that the fault is caused by that sensor, but the trim values may give a clue.

All I can say is that the car is a different vehicle to drive. Its now a pleasure to drive. Before the map change it used to just cut out at traffic light and tye idle was erratic. The map trims the mixture values and if not working correctly can have a knock on effect on other things. It is French. I have cleared the fault to the archives but diagbox can recall these. I will take a full photo of the full screen of the fault record. If you look inside the censor electric connection there are 4 pins numbered 1 2 3 4. The ohms resistance between pins 1 and 2 on the new censor was 9.76 ohms. The old one was showing an open circuit. It was definitely done. I will post an archive photo ASAP for you.

No panic, I've just picked up on this. Here are the fault code descriptors for you:

On the P1676 fault - have you changed the alternator recently and if so are you positive you have replaced it with the correct type?
Fault Code: P2178
Description of Fault: Mixture regulation fault: Mixture too rich.

The corrective factors of the air quantity have produced a value that is not plausible: Air quantity too low
Incoherence between the air flow and the flow calculated from the signal provided by the oxygen sensor. The fault is activated when Air quantity is incorrectly evaluated.
Conditions for Fault to clear: The corrective factors of the air quantity have reached a value that is plausible.
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active: -
Symptoms:
  • Unstable idling
  • Stalling at idle
  • Excessive fuel consumption
  • Emissions outside the norms
Suspect Areas:
  • Oxygen sensor
  • Fuel injector
  • Fuel rail pressure too low
  • Camshaft dephaser target
  • Valve lift position sensor
  • Inlet pressure sensor

Fault Code: P1676
Description of Fault: Controlled alternator fault: Value received over the BSS network incorrect. Detection of a loss of communication on the line BSS (Non-recognition of the type of alternator, or information awaited from the alternator but not received).
Conditions for Fault to clear: Communication with the controlled alternator re-established and in conformity.
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active: Fixed reference voltage sent to the alternator.
Symptoms:
  • Unstable idling
Suspect Areas:
  • Alternator faulty
  • BSS line cable (cable linking the alternator to the engine ECU)
  • Electromagnetic interference
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Indeed Marc. P2178. Last line of "suspected areas" inlet pressure censor. Right on the button 👍 Going to check out the other fault code today. I haven't fitted a new alternator but it's possible someone prior to myself owning the car has, maybe a second hand one. I have only owned the car for a few weeks and it was laden with faults when I got it. This P1676 is the last fault to tackle.

As promised the full fault reading code photo. Notice the richness regulation status "closed loop" 0
