2013 Peugeot 2008 1.2 VTi - White smoke at high revs

I have dismantled a 2011 and 2013 1.6 Turbo engine from BMWs using the four cylinder N13 engine and found seized top piston rings in no.2 cylinder on both. I don't have compression test data unfortunately. Both engines, that had covered 65 and 94 k kms were badly coked up on the piston tops and in the inlet and exhaust ports as well as the valves. Spark plugs were black and oily. I suspect the piston rings used by all this family of engines were low-friction and certainly the oil rings were a one-piece design with a spiral spring retainer. I can find very little information on these oil rings but I think they have been replaced with conventional 3-piece designs- certainly the replacement rings I bought were. My conclusion is that piston ring problems with this family of engines, and possibly the 3 cylinder, are probable. None of my bores were damaged, piston clearances were ok and just replacing the rings and overhauling the cylinder head have resulted in sweetly running engines that don't burn oil. So don't be too discouraged - at the very least pulling out the pistons should provide some interesting information. What I am not sure about is whether you can obtain the necessary workshop manual type of information to enable an informed rebuild?
