Lovely colour. Aegean blue? I used to have a similar but not the same Polaris blue 406 Coupe. Love the deep rich metallic blues.

Always thought the 307 looked very tall (and compared to a 306 it is!) On the hatchbacks it never really looked right to me, but the long roofline of the estate/ SW hides it well and I guess has a bit more load space as a result.

Am I right SW = big glass roof? How do you find that? I have similar big glass roof in my C5 and think it does wonders for the rather dark drab mostly black interior.

Is it the 2.0 8valve HDi in the 307? Crank pulley pretty straight forward swap (with a breaker bar!)

Idler I'd measure it's dimensions - I found a replacement by searching dimensions online £7! Rather than change full tensioner. Note the tensioner pivot can wear though, so check that for play (a good 1-2mm play in the tensioner pivot on my (EW10J4) coupes tensioner, so changed the full item.

Cheers matt, ill check the whole complete tensioner set up and see what is really doing, mine has the full glass roof to be honest we have a lot of l8ttle s**t with catapults where i love and they don't mind what they fire at either, so im happy its not the glass roof type as for the length its over 140mm linger than my old picasso ! And you notice it too.

Did they heat up at the tips? Any that did not will need to be replaced.

Oh yes the tips glowed very bright the heat they gave off was extremely hot too. They came out easy the thread holes were very clean , this car has been very well cared for by the previous owner.

Good. That means the glow plugs are in good order (if they had glowed elsewhere they would have been faulty).

I don't know how good NGK are (but they are a known name), but I ALWAYS (when suggesting the glow plugs need to be tested) say to keep anything inflammable well away from the testing area. Remember, the glow plugs have to heat up a diesel engine enough to allow combustion to take place without the driver dying of boredom!

I always think of whatever car I've got a a work in progress im looking to get the vacuum hose off the turbo as im thinking it maybe time to renew that as the 206 has just had a new turbo.
Its boosting a bit slow compared to what it was before but when it kicks in it goes like a rocket, im also thinking there might be a tad to much oil in the engine as the valve cover pushes some out into the turbo air duct and when you put the foot down smoke will puff out then its clear, im concerned as regards the mot emissions test.

Yes it loosens anti clockwise. Don't think I've ever seen PSA car with a left hand thread crank pulley bolt.

Cheers wheeler, what turned out to be a replacement job didn't !
Once finally down to where the pulley lives there was no dry rusty colour dust, also gave it a good tug, wiggle and so on hardly no play so I've left it for now. How ever . The idler pulley wasn't very tight nut wise, so off that came a quick test, slight play but nothing to worry about , I've got the parts and with my findings these two can be left till next year late spring early summer , laying on a plastic sheet cold wet ground no thanks, at least i know things are good..

Pulley bolt tension 70 nm then 60°
Idler nut 25nm or it that foot pounds.. senior moments ..
