I cant remember if the mk2 systems with the ID48's need pre coding before you can program the key or not, the later mk3 certainly does need pre coding.
Are you aware that the remote programs separately from the transponder on this system & requires a separate pin code to program? It's not the same code you use to program the transponders.

I've just tried to program with the id48 which arrived today. Not really successful. It tells me the secret key code is incorrect. Is this what you mean by the need to precode? I was disappointed as I thought everything would be possible just with my immo pin code.

Hi wheeler.
Your observations about the need to pre-code stopped me in my tracks - but sadly it looks as if you are right!

I am not too bothered about the remote. The existing vehicle key does not have the necessary buttons anyway.

I managed to get as far as the programming stage and the new chip is "partially" recognised (see screenshots).

I suspect the pre-coding needed is beyond the scope of Lexia/PP - if so, it might be a showstopper for me! I have no means of interrogating/coding the ID48 itself.

As an alternative approach, I might try and obtain the five digit PIN code originally associated with the vehicle (from Citroen - at a cost), modify the Immobox bin file with this, re-virginise the ECU, as see what that gives me. This assumes that the original chip is still good and not corrupted - unlike the Immobox was!

Firstly are you doing this on the bench or on the car?
Is the engine ECU now matched to the car? If I remember right the Fiat systems auto match when the ignition is switched on however im not sure if this will happen if the immo box is blank & no programed key?
There are a few possibilities here
1. A dodgy ID48 chip.
2. It needs pre coding first.
3. Something in the immo box is corrupted or incorrect after messing around with it.

Im not sure getting the original code will help here.
If you want to send me your dump file from the immo box i can confirm the stored pin code & i can also produce a transponder that is already programmed & ready to start the van. Well I would be able to do this under normal circumstances but not sure if it will work due to the immo box file being altered. I can certainly try it if you wish?

Thanks wheeler for your kind offer.
Everything is on my bench at present. The vehicle is local, but a few miles away.
It is my ultimate aim to get all the components (Immobox, ECU and key) all co-ordinated so that I can re-introduce them to the vehicle. I feel I'm nearly there!
The ECU is the original one from the van, and after virginising with a clean 5P08 file, I have assumed an "auto-match" with the Immobox, as you have intimated. Lexai seems to view the setup quite seemlessly.
I should perhaps say that the Immobox I am using is direct from a similar vehicle in the scrapyard, and is (hopefully) intact apart from me reading the bin file to obtain the pin.
I have included the file here as requested.
Just a point of clarification - I notice that most of the ID48's on sale seem to be advertised as Make/Model specific. I purchased a VW/Audi chip as a cheaper alternative to the Citroen Relay one, assuming that all ID48 T6 were universal. Perhaps I'm wrong?
I am happy to post you the transponder, if you are willing to give it a try?

OK i have managed to download your BIN file from the forum on my home PC no problem. There are 2 keys currently stored on it & i have read the PIN code, I will send you the PIN i have by PM to see if it matches? I will try & see if it will let me add a 3rd transponder.

That's great wheeler. As the immobox was ex-scrapyard there is no value in the stored keys anyway - if that makes any difference.

OK so we have confirmed the same pin code so why it's saying the code is incorrect i don't know. Cant help but think its something to do with it being on the bench & not fully connected on the car.
Might be worth trying the code in reverse though, some of the decoding programs display the code backwards especially on PSA systems (I know this is Fiat though).
I have been able to program a new transponder to your dump, Whether it will work or not I don't know. In theory when you load the new dump onto the immo box the transponder should start the car without any OBD programming. Im happy to send it to you for the cost of the chip & the postage?

That's great wheeler! Yes, I did wonder if trying it in the vehicle might help. I can have a look at that in a few days and I'll try the code reversal too.
I'd certainly like to take you up on the offer of the chip, if that's ok?
I fully accept that it may not work.
