I don't know where it is; only that it must exist. The tank must (obviously) be sealed to prevent the fumes escaping, but there has to be an air inlet to take up the volume as the fuel is used.

Re: Xsara picasso tick over issue
Will have a check over sometime in the morning theres got to be a pipe that must be near the filler cap then it may run down near the tank some where, i will report back here with my findings as and when.Hell Razor5543 wrote: 13 Mar 2022, 22:19 I don't know where it is; only that it must exist. Re: Xsara picasso tick over issue
So went to the car this morning Opened the filler cap took it off sound of bubbling ...
Put cap back on run engine sprayed wd40 on what ever could leak air , nothing. Went for a run slight miss and lumpy after half a mile, stopped at destination took cap off drove back home 4 miles ,,seemed to run normal. Maybe a small hole drill through the filler cap to allow air through to help it breathe better ?

Re: Xsara picasso tick over issue
I would check the filler cap itself. There may be a breather hole in it that is blocked.

Re: Xsara picasso tick over issue
It looks like the breather is all in one with the filler neck, it may even breathe out of a small hole at the bottom of the filler hole - check that this isn't blocked with crud. I've half a mind that this has come up before....

Re: Xsara picasso tick over issue
Took off the surround , give me a better view of things
Jacked up car took wheel off moved liner out of the way
Inner fuel kneck has a square type hole which is moulded with the filler kneck inlet pipe bit is seperate ,this then goes from 2inch width down to an inch it has a quick release pipe at the bottom which i disconnected and lowered the pipe and some diesel came out about 1 0z.. then stopped i wasnt brave enough to blow
The surround has a small hole but this is for rain water to drain away
As for the cap no hole either

16 mile test run . Car was normal . What ever came out the overflow/breather pipe seems to have sorted the problem .

Re: Xsara picasso tick over issue
New cam and crank shaft sensors arrived today fitted both been out to do the daily grind ... The difference is amazing,
The multimeter readings were
1249 crankshaft sensor from 464 ohms
1050 camshaft sensor from 772 ohms
These results speak for themselves
