Hello, I know it was long time ago but , Did you manage to fix this problem? Same problem, suddenly stopped working after I replaced the broken reverse light. I don’t know if these are related.

The problem with the parking assistance is that the fault can be intermittent. So this is why there may not be a fault showing up. If you are using Lexia or Diagbox, connect it up and then start the engine and put the vehicle in reverse carefully and if the fault comes up in the vehicle it will also show up in Lexia / Diagbox.

Thanks for the help. The day after, it decided to work normally. I don't know why but it's still working. :?

Sometimes water can get kicked up on top of the sensor wiring and when it runs down, it can get inside, which can cause corrosion and failure - so this can be why it is intermittent. I had this issue on my MK II C5. In the end they raised the rear parking sensor loom that connects all the sensors and secured it in such a way as to stop an water running down.

Hello, sorry to open the subject again but. i have the same problem from 2-3 days ago.
The difference is that i had to change the small display over the CD. After the swap, i lost the park assistant and also automatic headlight.
I went to diagnose with lexia and we couldnt find any error, or any option where we can activate those to. Any suggestions what i can try or where i can find the options for these 2 problems in Lexia's menu. Cause its not where it should be :D

You can't just replace the display screen with any version. The screen is a computer in itself, so has to be the correct part number for the original, otherwise it will not function as intended.

In other words, it has to have the capabilities to display and present the information for t her vehicle systems. There are different versions of the EMF screens and they look the same but are different internally.

Software versions do make a difference, yes. If you replace it with an earlier version it may not be compatible with the RD4 unit installed in the vehicle or have the functionality.

the strangest thing is that there is nothing in common with parktronic, and there is no option for auto headlight start in the options with the old display, nor with the "new" one so how's that related ...

Also the button for On/Off parktronic is aways ON, and it doesnt react when i click it

Auto headlights have nothing to do with the Head Unit or the Screen.

The Auto Headlights are activated via the left hand stalk fitted to the COMMS Unit under the steering wheel and is only relevant if you have AUTO on the stalk. These work with the rain / light sensor on the windscreen according to options.

"Parktronic" is not a PSA system. If you have rear or front and rear parking assistance then this is controlled via the parking assistance ECU and works to send the information to the display screen - which can be a full colour representation if you have a telematics colour screen on simpler display on the smaller screens.
