Additive low

I managed to top up the additive tank ( very messy ) as the bottle didnt come with a refill kit. I have tried numerous times to reset the counter but the warning still shows up ( im using LEXIA ). Is there a walk through guide? is there a pump to prime first etc? Communication error with the additive ECU pops up on a global test, could this be the issue?

There shouldn't be a separate additive ECU on a C4 Picasso of this year. It should be handled by the engine ECU. That may be why it is nit communicating with it as there isn't one.

After the Global Test, go onto the Engine ECU, select that and look into the following menus, (Repair / Pack Repair) or may be something else and look for the relevant option around there.

With Mick’s MK I C5 these did have a separate additive ECU and they commonly failed on the early models when trying to reset them, often requiring replacements.

So have another look and let us know how you get on.

Joe i had similar issues when trying to reset my 2010 C5 X7 additive level and service light.

I eventually managed to find a way more by luck than judgement.

After the Global Test look for the Ignition/Injection ECU and then go to the repair section for the additive, cannot remember exactly what it was called but i found it by trial and error

I found the following 3 options

1.Refill additive tank.
2.Replace additive tank/replace additive pipework
3.Replace DPF filter.

I did #1 first and followed the on screen prompts.

I then did #2 as i assumed this would tell the system that it needs to prime itself

May not be the same on yours but as we know Citroen do things there own way.

Finally got it reset. As suggested I ran a global test then clicked on the engine ECU. I clicked on 1.Refill additive tank.
2.Replace additive tank/replace additive pipework.

Basically you need to get the diesel additive fluid tank topped up. The Engine ECU will also need resetting when this has been done. So the dealer or a competent mechanic who has experience with this if you don't want to buy the fluid, filling kit or have a diagnostic toolkit to do this yourself.

Dont have an issue doing it myself, im confident enough with spanner's etc any idea where i would find out which fluid it is to suit my one, believe theres a few different options

Ok, so for that build date you need Eolys Powerflex Blue and you have a reservoir not a pouch system.
