After a great deal of hoo-hah, the car is finally, this week, fully matriculated and now on Spanish plates!
"L..." reg! A 28-year-old car on a 2021 plate! Spain moves in mysterious ways

Re: Chris's BX blog
From France, that is indeed a special call - so thanks!
I have kept the 'Citroën Nice' rear plate surround, as a reminder of its 1992 origins, and first ownership.
We have fond memories of 36, such as the Ingrandes camping site, up the D910 from Chatelleraut, with both tent and caravan, BX and XM. The kids now own a long-house near Marie-Levescault, where (pre-Covid) we've spent a Christmas with the whole family. Can't wait to get back there for a visit.

Lovely invite, Pete. The sort of journey we'd likely do in the XM, as it's a two-day jobbie each way.

Re: Chris's BX blog
Show it off Chris, get the camera out in amongst your local scenery taking arty lights on brochure shots with sunsets in the background, and let us see your BX in all its glory.
This is a lot more battered example than yours (same special edition though) but a few pics of the type I'm thinking of
Regards Neil

Re: Chris's BX blog
Lovely, Neil. Same colour, too.
Will try to get some scenic shots when this flaming lockdown is over. From Sunday 00:01, technically speaking we're not supposed to leave our village (of just 1600 folk), except for essentials.
Looking forward to this year, though - ever optimistic.
The BX is thriving on use - as they do - with the horses under the (steel!) bonnet waking up a bit more each time she's taken out. Have even discovered some useful torque between 1000 and 2000rpm, which is usually the sluggish band on a turbo. Have managed to leave a few petrols behind when pulling up hilly bends: they have to drop a gear, I don't!
Motorway speed is, though, something else. At 120km/h, the BX is doing about 3250rpm; the XM 1000rpm less.
An answer to your question, Mike!
The BX is just so involving to drive, and amazingly spacious inside, even though its roof sits a full half-metre below all those SUVs - but it mops up humps and bumps better than any of them. Was followed by a low and sporty hatch through coastal Algarrobo this morning: I just kept a steady speed through and across the raised pedestrian crossings every 100m or so, while t'other guy had to hit the brakes for each one, only to floor it between them! I could tell he wasn't pleased by the way he took off at a my exit roundabout.
The dieselclean is obviously doing its stuff.

They are indeed deceptively spacious, comfortable and eager to go.

So that means it is now HER car, and you are only allowed to touch it when it needs any work doing to it?xantia_v6 wrote: 17 Jan 2021, 06:54My wife thinks that LMB are the best registration letters ever, as they are her initials .white exec wrote: 16 Jan 2021, 17:35 After a great deal of hoo-hah, the car is finally, this week, fully matriculated and now on Spanish plates!![]()

Re: Chris's BX blog
I had a neighbour, who had a BX, with its laquer gone and the paint resembled something like red mat, actually like our Kadett E back then
.
Every time looking through my window I was seeing this thing, and always said to my self - "What an ugly car Citroen is..."
, didn't even know, that the model is BX.
Yeah, some like it squary

A 1979 Bertone design originally for an intended Volvo 'Tundra' (with shades of origami), which Volvo rejected.
Bertone went on to design XM, and Xantia.
