I have never needed to reinsert the USB stick on my RD45, it always works. Perhaps it is something to do with the performance of a particular memory stick?
It would be nicer if the music source would default to the previous selection (USB or bluetooth) at switch on.

Yes, it would. Does your RD45 also start blaring radio when switched on? I've noticed that all Peugeots and Citroens up to the present day do that.

Not mine
It stays at whatever setting I had it on last.

If I've switched my eMyWay (RT6) radio in the X7 off with the standby button then it stays off but if I use the mute function then this is reset when I start the car. On the SMEG+ system in the 308, there is no standby button and the mute function remains active when the engine is restarted.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 - RD4 to RD45 upgrade log
It seems there are different behaviours depending on various factors. For example, today the USB drive needed no replugging. It was an 8Gb USB 2.0 drive formatted in FAT32. My first try was with a 16Gb one, and though it worked, the radio didn't acknowledge the drive afte being switched off and the back on again.
Tried a 64Gb 3.0 in exFAT, but no dice. It doesn't even read it. I'm trying agian tomorrow, but with the drive in NTFS.
