Passed !
The plastic cowling was lose around the steering wheel and it covered a hole when I sorted out the fitting of this its been all good.

Now ... Who knows how to fit a rev counter ?

Also regarding emission tests
When at my mot garage I watched a petrol have the emission test done just after mine and me being thick want to know what the machine difference used from petrol to diesel.

I noticed the petrol all linked to a computer and the diesel was just a blue box with probe and it was stand alone.

Not with a Picasso but i did with my old C4 2005 ended up replacing the Engine Fuse Box will try and find my original post

Fitted newer headlamps today was easy , someone had the foresight to have the lower screws slightly lose which helped slip out the old and slide in the new so much faster took all of 15 mins !

The old lamps were yellowed and fogged and could not be buffed anymore.

30£ for a decent set was a pleasing price .

OK this is interesting..
Losing power again not the air box or intake that's been done ..
My light bulb moment ....

A noise and a smell..

Got back home checked the cam shaft sensor, dirty covered in rubber dust ... Cam belt cracked and I'd say ready for a new kit .

The rattle noise I've had on another car and when I did the timing belt and sensor change it went and the power came back.

Fingers crossed I need the right kit can anyone throw me a lifeline with part numbers or kit prices.

Above is the timing belt .

Today I've started the job and when I got this far I was shocked.
Think its just about come to the end of its service life.

These are age-related service items of course, every 10 years so need checking if near this age or where purchased second hand if the normal replacement mileage has not been reached or indeed exceeded.

Its a partial blame on me , I got the old car February, didn't pay much it was up for 650 and by the time i found the bits that needed the attention was very lucky and drove away paying 400 , luck or the fact it needed a bit of work.

I've changed passenger n/s rear door lock, rear wiper motor & recently 2 rear tyres tbh classed these as normal parts that do wear out.

I didn't get much paper work with the car, only finding receipts in the car when cleaning it out found where it came from, Sunderland when new , Bristol , Sevenoaks (3 months) then me, Service book is stamped up till 2010 and that's it, the Sevenoaks one was a second hand car dealer and he said the belt was done at about 140.000 miles , don't believe that as The photo looks more like a belt that's done over double if not more.

Was hoping to do the job next May but pulled that forwards due to the state of the belt, I'm using my zx and she's been brilliant .

My fault ... I should of done the belt earlier this year but covid came lock down came and everywhere didn't want to send stock or didnt have stock what i needed , then a seller on eBay sent me an email offering for the Picasso a full cambelt kit for 40£ just last week so i took the offer .

When its done I'll have peace of mind knowing what's done and when it was done.

Sills next year got new pair for 45£ few weeks ago need warmer weather for that .

Yes, peace of mind knowing it's been done. Before my sister sold her Picasso recent;y, they had new sills put on, primed and painted and that was a great job - better than the originals for sure. Weren't expensive and the local indy did a great job - much less of a faff cutting bits out here and there - just replacing the whole thing also means you know the sills are good going forward.

A total of 7 hours over 2 days the timing belt job is almost done ,

I've 3 bolts to fasten up on the belt covers, final tighten of the crankshaft bolt , 50? turn I've done 196lb mm already, and the wheel arch liners to fit.

So much to move ! Very happy its almost done.
