There are people who think the SM is pretty. I'm not one of them. It takes all sorts. Apart from the weird front end the Scorpio was a really good car.

The SM is one of those cars that photograph very poorly and always looks awful in any picture, however skilfully taken...
In the metal though, they do have a certain charm and look an great deal better...
Last time I was up at my local French car specialist, they had an SM there. I think I posted a pic of Sam next to it on the other place... I think they look ill-proportioned, the front end is a thing of horror and the rear looks like an airfix afterthought! The CX is a thing of beauty though..

I mean, why would they have spent all that money on every single option possible and then NOT opted for the Cosworth V6? It's like ordering champagne and caviar only to consume them with a plastic spork and a disposable cup. Not even sure the fuel consumption would've been that much worse, given that the 2.0 was operating so much closer to it's limits.

Ford have always been good at that in the past.. The Capri could be specified with a 1300cc Kent and indeed the Cortina too...
For those who wanted a the swank of a sports car (Capri) or a luxury barge but couldn't really afford it... All looks and no substance...
Then they went really silly and put the same engine in the Ka... A tiny, light car and possibly ridiculously over-engined! Makes it go well and makes it a lot of fun though!
There are a couple of c2's out there with ESJ9's in them. Am interested to see one and what that's like. (I do think it may well be a case of too big and heavy an engine for the car though, tbh)
As the Ford Puma is quite a hoot I would imagine the Ford Cosworth Puma is huge fun!

I believe the Puma engine has been put in a Ka...Not hard allegedly as they are built on the same Fiesta-based platform...

Never realised the SportKa was a 1.6... I thought it was all looks and no substance... Now that sounds like a fun car to aspire to... I may look out for one if/when Jodie ends up BER...
