ECO stop/start

I don't know if this is the right place for my question.
Is it wise to use the stop/start feature in a diesel engine?
I have read that new engines are provided with better parts in order to compensate with stop/start stress.
But, this means that there is a stress to the engine and perhaps without this feature (turning it off) we prolong the life of the engine.
I want to know your opinion.
