It does make you wonder why ECP supply them....and charge more than a Lucas-branded one! Or are Lucas bad too? Their fuel injection on my TR5 and TR6 was pretty poor.....but that was ages ago!

Lucas don't actually make anything now https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucas_Industries . Other companies make stuff with the logo.

The Lucas PI used on Triumphs was a bit primitive, but you have to allow for it being a purely mechanical system, and probably the best such system ever put into production.

The Lucas PI system worked pretty well until tampered with but miniscule amounts of wear rendered them unfixable, we used to remove them and fit the twin SU carbs instead.

I remember inherent lumpy idling on a friend's TR6 2.5 PI. Went like a rocket, otherwise.

Both of my TRs had the very noisy boot-mounted fuel pump, in hot weather it would overheat and then stop doing its job. I used to carry a towel and a gallon of water....wet the towel, wrap it round the pump....that cooled it much quicker than just waiting, job done.....for another 20 miles or so, at least! You could get a water-cooling kit as time went on, then later a replacemnt Bosch pump, which was much better. Happy days.

Oh yes. We had a TR6pi (may have been a TR5pi - it was a long time ago) in once which was going to go on to be sold. I took it out for a "run". I did about 5, maybe 10 at most, miles and used a gallon of petrol. Big smile on my face though.
