Thanks! Though in the mean time I'll probably try and re solder the track

Just resoldered it and..... It didn't work! Just burned out the same connection as soon as it was connected so there's either a fault elsewhere on the circuit or with the wiring loom to the unit (hope not)

So I'll be needing a replacement after all
