Impact Wrench To Remove C5 Front Lower Ball Joint??

It's a good idea to hacksaw of the Nyloc end of the nut to make it east to remove again otherwise the Nyloc bit can hold the nut very tightly and make it a bit awkward to shift again...

Or just use another non-nylock nut for that job.

(I hate hacksawing anything, let alone a 10p nyloc nut! )

I usually cut a grove with the angle grinder along the bottom of the balljoint thread, then I can get a flat blade screw driver on it making it easy to remove the nut Some of them come with a torx fitting at the end, in which case you don't need to bother.

Well, I bought myself one of the Clarke electric impact thingies and did the ball joints today. They were stuck solid but 5 seconds with the impact wrench and they were off.....well worth the £68. Wish I'd had it when I took the sub frame off last year!!!

Yes, it's one of those tools that you may only use a couple of times but you'll never regret it and wonder why you didn't buy it years ago.....!!

Well I have one, possibly two lower swivel balljoints to replace on my Xantia, if it will let me get those undone with no fuss and no metre long scaffold tubes over breaker bars it will have been worth it...
