The wheels which are best are the ones which you prefer.

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
Indeed. I don't get this wheel pr0n, most of them look rubbish tbh with very few exceptions.Northern_Mike wrote:The wheels which are best are the ones which you prefer.
They are like shoes - no exceptions with shoes though.

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
I say stick with what it has, 19" wheels will look 'over-wheeled' in my opinion. They suit some right up to date cars as the bodies are big and bulbus, while the wheel arches are huge. The C4 is a nice shape and suits the 17" wheels, though I do prefer the wheel style from your red C4 better.
If it was me I think I would be keeping the original wheels but getting them refinished in a medium to dark grey colour.

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
Call me a boring old fart, but:
Alloys (compared with steels): are more prone to damage and corrosion; require more care and time when changing tyres and balancing, much more inviting to thieves and expensive to replace, and the essential locking nuts are both a PITA and no real problem for a determined thief.
Low profile tyres are more expensive, wreck the ride and are far more prone to damage.
Oh yes, colour - what's the point of black-painted alloys (other than to hide the brake dust)?

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
Although I voted for the 19's to be honest the best size is 18's with spacers. And the best colour for wheels is silver. Thats why I got mine refurbished in silver, ok dark silver, ok maybe even extremely dark silver haha. Here is a couple of pics of a perfect wheel/car match. Excuse it being dirty!!!!

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
They are not black so must be extremely dark silver (just might be anthracite silver)

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
I agree with Davie that 18" is probably the best size, but although I love anthracite with most colour cars, I like black with black!

The 17's look massively small, the 19's look too small too.
Get yourself an older car, with sensibly-sized wheelarches.

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
Thanks all for the input.
Interesting to get the opinions, though, to see what was what. Still, with the chap with the 19s going incommunicado I think that's made my mind up...
Either way, I really still like the 17s especially being black too. I just couldn't imagine them being silver or any other colour, it would just look wrong IMO.
So it's staying as it is...
Indeed 100% correct Mike.Northern_Mike wrote:The wheels which are best are the ones which you prefer.

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
As I said previously, the 17" rims help the 'stealth' look, and, with the 'deeper' tyres, help to give you a comfortable ride. The 19" rims didn't look bad though, but I wonder how much they would have affected the ride comfort.

Re: Which wheels do you prefer?
Probably for the best as your C4 is a beast anyway! As regards the poll "a man just hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest" Paul Simon said that, but I've found it to be profoundly true in most cases.
