That 2 stage closing is v useful. If you leave it in the part closed first stage position and open the row 3 quarter lights you can travel at high speed, at least as fast as a 1.9 td synergie will go, with unruffled hair and no booming. Not sure if it was a deliberate design feature or a happy accident.
