That's exactly the same layout as my 2002 C5 SX

Yes, it is. The dash layout was not changed until the C5II (or facelift) came out in late 2004.Gibbo2286 wrote:That's exactly the same layout as my 2002 C5 SX

I did with the last one i had and wasnt impressed at all so 2 days later got it put back to normal, so i doubt i'll do that again.....Citroenmad wrote:If you want more performance get your current 2.0HDi 110 remapped or get a facelifted C5II with the 138bhp 2.0HDI.
If the C5II has 138 that tells me that they knew that 110 was just not enough for its size, mine's now running fine, it was a duff injector (number 4) and blocked the egr off....it's still a slug!. Maybe the C5 II is better to drive because the extra power, mine just isnt.....i never thought i'd say this, but i prefer driving the Pug because of this.
Dont get me wrong, the C5's a good car, but the ones before the II have been let down through lack of extra grunt/torque.....just m/o of course

It depends on the remap, having experienced a few remapped cars its a worthwhile thing to do if you wanted the extra grunt. A generic remap is not worth it though, you want a custom or semi-custom remap so that it is suited to your car.stu9 wrote:I did with the last one i had and wasnt impressed at all so 2 days later got it put back to normal, so i doubt i'll do that again.....Citroenmad wrote:If you want more performance get your current 2.0HDi 110 remapped or get a facelifted C5II with the 138bhp 2.0HDI.

The C5II was also available with the 1.6HDi engine producing 110bhp, so the same as the previous 2.0HDi 110. It also has pretty similar performance figures.
True, 110bhp in a large car is not going to be a ball of fire, however its enough in my opinion. I have driven quite a few 2.0HDi 110 C5s now and they all had their differences. Our first C5 estate was a 110 and was as flat as a fart, I had to thrash the bits off it to get anywhere near the speed I normall drive and economy really suffered. I replaced the MAF with a genuine one which did improve things, but it could never keep up with our 2.0HDi 110 saloon.
We still have a 110 C5 2.0HDi and it performs fine, it always has done. It sometimes tows a horse box with one horse, this is on the limit of its towing capabilities but it performs fine with the weight. Many times ive had 3 bikes on the tow bar mounted rack, a boot full of gear and a car full of people on trips to Scotland, it never feels too slow. Granted, its not a ball of fire but its passable.
