Side light bulb's (Update)

Someone on here has fitted a strip on LEDs inside the sidelight, however I cant remember who it was now

Do they give a pure white light?

They look pretty white to me, I might well get a pair of those next time.

Saying that, ive had my C5II for over 14 months now and I have not replaced one bulb on it but our C5II estate eats front sidelight bulbs.

Non I would think. The bulb holder will need to be cut off and the strip jointed to it.

Just noticed my C5 has a front sidelight out, its first in 17 months ive had it.

Im going to give those LED bulbs a try, just ordering them now.

They mimic the standard side light by lighting in all directions rather than just forward as in JOHND's post
Initially they wouldn't fit but by shaving less than a hairsbreadth off each corner with a bit of emery paper they fit nicely and have lasted over a year.

connected to the sidelights as day runing lights. As long as you dont start the engine with the lights on and avoid the electrical spike, (they don't like spikes) they last about a year before becoming too dim and at just over a fiver for a pair thats not a lot to pay..




Sorry the pics not too good in daylight, but you get the idea. theyre piggy backed into the sidelights behind the headlights and then the wires run alongside the washer hose and then under the bonnet insulation, attaching to the blanking plate with small zip fastners.
