Less then £20 for the pair! I'd pay three times that if they lasted!
I think that is where your going wrong

I pay around £35 for C5 ones from the dealer and they do last.

Don't overlook TRW. They supply a lot of things OEM to the Euro marques.

£40 for a pair and original equipment!
Go to carparts4less.co.uk - it's the same outfit, but prices are 30% lower....! =D>

30%. Not quite. They are currently quoting £18.40 per link so about 8% cheaper than what I paid.

Take note Steve that doing a search on carparts4less.co.uk, you will need to enter Lemforder and not the UK keyboard spelling of Lemfoerder as they do not use umlauts (two dots above a letter) on the search on their site!

i wont use ECP anymore as i find they sell sub standerd good in a bid to undercut the price's of there competitors,
and it dont seem to make any difference what brand it says it is on the box/packet from them

They certainly soiled their nest with you, eh? I can remember when you were quite a fan of theirs.

How the droplinks can be so poor is beyond me.

I'm seeing a much beefer affair that could easily last for year's.

I've costed up the bits and using easily available BL balljoints I'm looking at £20 quid for the pair!

For a later car (with 90° at each end):

ECP (Retail) 24.60
Carparts4less 17.40

29.3% cheaper :?

Even if it was only 8%, I'd have it anyway - same people, same service, why pay more? (Although that argument somewhat falls down if the local branch is on your doorstep.... =D> )
