HDi won't start , help

i have 8 hdi rockers here if you need them

Spoke to my mechanic friend last night and he says because of access to the engine bay in the dispatch and it being sat on the drive he'd rather not take the job on , but he knows a garage who will do the complete repair , rockers,valves new belt etc for £500 which he says is a petty good price . So I'll be ringing them today to find out a bit more , looking at the engine bay it looks a devil of a job as the majority of the engine is back under the bulkhead/windscreen area , is there any questions I should be asking the garage if they do the job ? Wot wot if your possibly looking for a dispatch Hdi mine might be available if your interested after repair , it's in very nice condition and only really been used as a car , thanks

Just a little update on the Hdi , it's had a new timing belt kit & waterpump and it will need 8 rockers replacing and hopefully it will start . Is there possibilities of bent valves ? Thanks , Mark

Bent valves are rare Mark, because they're at right angles to the pistons so when the belt breaks the pistons push all the valves up and the rockers break..

If you do have any bent valves you will be very, unlucky unlucky...

Just heard of the mechanic that the Hdi is running and will be ready on Monday , no bent valves just all 8 rockers a new timing belt kit & waterpump , will post on Monday when I get it

Sadly the van is up for sale now due to two break ins and tools stolen , it will make someone a cracking van it's cleaner than most cars and just as quick

Just got the van back and it's running lovely , I may even hang onto it over the winter if I don't get what I want for it . I forgot how lively it was when it was empty

, for anyone look for a van these dispatch Hdi's really do take some beating
