i very seldom use new pipe seals and i pick them out with a very small plain bladed screw driver,

and as stated above pull or snip off the loose strands of rubber caused by the thread,

then on re/fitting mind you dont pinch them with the pipe, as tinny bits of pipe seal can/will cause all kinds of havouk with the system,

a newly fully qualified F**D mechanic came to work at a citroen service agent i used to work at,

was trained on F**D and only new F**D the first job he was set on was a clutch on a GS,

boss's son told him if he needs and help just ask,

he got the engine out, got it all back in, started it up only for the regulater sphere to go bang and split wide open,

boss's son fitted a second hand sphere for this one to go bang also,

so he fitted a second hand regulater with another sphere this was fine,

he stripped the old regulater down to find some tinny bits of pipe seal were blocking the 2500psi presure going were it should have been going,

Yup!

A BRILLIANT easy way! Get a screw driver thats just smaller then the union hole... Push it into the seal and Unscrew!! Do NOT push into the union hole while turning the screwdriver, turn it gently, and the seal will work out...

I'm basing the finger sizes on my admittedly rather slender, girly fingers

We obviously both have girly fingers then. You're not alone!

I measured the height to centre of arches yesterday before I stripped off the rear HC.

Front was around 675mm.. Rear was around 625mm..

Once I'd plumbed it in the right way around. It was arounf 650mm. all round. RESULT!

so its a high rider then

No because the front seat is sitting forward of the halfway point of the wheelbase.

It certainly feels a 3/4" lower!
