You're welcome, :D . You should have no problem making something either, I whipped mine up in a few minutes just looking at scrap bits in my garden shed. :)

Can I ask how much you have been quoted for your parts and if they are from a main dealer ?

As one of my tensioners has started making a noise a short time ago, I though it was the waterpump but its one of the rollers (yes really) :( , I got a quote of "about £90" for a belt kit (cambelt, idler and tensioner roller) , for an XUD7 but the parts are the same (or almost the same). That's from a factors though. Was going to leave belt as its done about 20K but I think I might as well do it anyway again while I am there. Not rang dealer yet.

Andy - I get most of my stuff from gsfcarparts.com mail order from the website.

They've got shops as well - German, Swedish and French Car Parts.

They're a lot cheaper than the main dealers but the stuff is usually high quality often made by the same OEM suppliers.

Here's a list of prices for my ZX:-

water pump 23.15
cambelt 9.75
tensioner 11.50
idler 9.75

(Can't do a pound sign on my computer)

You need to add VAT and P+P (7.50 usually).

The cambelt is a Dayco ISORAN - good quality.
Water pump - that's the current price but I actually bought mine four years ago. Mine is made by Airtex - good quality again. I don't know what make they sell now.

I haven't bought the tensioner and idler yet so I don't know what make they are. I'll ring them up to check I think. I've heard that Dayco, LUK and SKF are good makes. The idler price is for a TD. Not sure if it's suitable for my D. I'll have to check.

There's also aepdirect.com Never used them but they seem ok from looking at the website.

I started using gsfcarparts years ago when they were called andyspares. I went to the main dealer for a driveshaft gaiter and it was 31 pounds. As I needed three more I looked around and found andyspares selling them for 6.50 pounds each. The gaiters were exactly the same but in a non-Citroen box. They helped me find the correct gaiters which one of the main dealers couldn't seem to find and they even set me two free hub nuts.

One thing I should add... when it comes to wheel bearings I've found that you get what you pay for. Genuine top quality makes like SKF are worth paying extra for. Other cheaper, lesser brands are usually not as good.
