Hi Stempy, it's not such an onerous task if you have all the right gear to hand. You can do both sides easily within three to four hours. If you get really stuck, give me a call.

Thanks chap. I'm fine with working on engines but get a bit nervous with the heavy engineering tasks, especially when combined with a battle against 10 years worth of corrosion. Like you say, it's probably pretty straight forward if you have a fully equipped workshop rather than a driveway and a set of ring spanners.

I will furnish myself with a decent splitter and lower ball joint tool and see what happens. I do have an angle grinder if worst comes to worst

Hi Stempy, donot be so pessimistic!

I've just renewed all of the joints on the front of our Xantia estate and that is ten years old. Not a single sign of corrosion, so unless your car has been alternatley dipped in brine and dried in warm moist air,

, corrosion will be minimal, if at all.

Unless your car is the wrong colour.

Newer Citroens only rot slowly.

What do you need the angle grinder for? You're not going to cut up the car, are you?
