Reading this thread makes me ask:

if I am not getting any ticking from the hydraulics then can I take it that there is no need to replace?

Well maybe not. They are service items however at 3yrs or 36k I think. If I am correct that sphere acts as a reservoir for emergency braking if pump stops or fails while travelling.
I`ll replace mine anyway. For the £16 plus vat that it cost I think it is worth it.

Yes Jim if valves are £300 those springs will be stretched, heat treated, ultrasonically cleaned, cryogenically blasted and even gunmetal blued in order to get a result

For anyone who wants to understand how Citroen's hydropneumatic suspension works (in all its variants), I recommend The Citroen Technical Guide. It's quite a big PDF file, so it's worth downloading for easy reference in future.

Well good news for me is that new Sphere cured ticking. Not bad for accsess really on this V6 sphere. Only thing was I could not get sphere removal tool in with front Valance and a pipe in way.

My trusty cold chisel (very sharp) and big engineer hammer done the trick as usual. Working on the heavy weld at middle of sphere the firm tapping at about 60deg. seems to shock it off. If you take a shaving off it`s likely the chisel is too obtuse or shallow an angle. Move around the unit if needed..........it will come off IME.

If however you have a tool and can get in then use it. It`s great when they crack loose with a bit of leverage. Like an old troublesome bottom tooth coming out:

You know Lexi, I'm not even sure if the Pleiades tool will do a V6 Accumulator due to it's location.

The only V6 accumulator I've replaced is on mine and I took the engine out to do it (amongst a few other odd jobs)

Pleased the new accumulator has done for the fast ticking :D

Jim,

They do - Just about and thats with a completely SHOT Pleiades removal tool!

I got mine on and changed my Acc sphere, HOWEVER, it didn't alter the regulator tick... so there must be something else wrong with the ole girl, as mentioned in another post elsewere..

If it is the Hydractive valve on yours Paul will you not feel it with a finger on the valve as it ticks?. Or does the ticking noise come from the regulator even as a result of faulty Hydractive valve? My ticking could be heard/ felt just above the sphere on reg itself.
