Possible Injector Pump ?

Delphi took over Lucas CAV. Lucas pumps are also known as RotoDiesel on some French cars. They're licenced copies of the Lucas.

Take a fully mechanical Bosch pump, injection pipes and injectors from an early Citroen or Peugeot 1.9TD and it'll go on and work. The problem is the ECU as it drives the tacho (if it has one) and controls the glowplug controller. I have a horrible suspicion the Lucas ECU also drives the speedo. The Lucas EPIC on my 2.1TD appears to but you may be able to leave the old ECU in place just looking after the speedo and glowplugs.

At the very least, you'll need to provide an ignition switched 12V supply for the stop solenoid and then it'll run. You may have to experiment with timing and fuelling a bit to get it sweet.

Note that from about '95 on, most PSA 1.9TDs will be found fitted with a semi-electronic Bosch pump with a keypad immobiliser, ECU and armoured, tamper-proof pump. These are more difficult but could be transplanted. You'd need pump, injectors (No. 3 is special as it has a needle-lift sensor), ECU, engine loom, double relay, and (initially at least) the keypad. Thn you'd need to do a good bit or wiring mods to make it all work. It's doable but the early mechanical pump is a better bet.

Wheeler, I believe it's the DW8.

If it is a DW8 then i've yet to see this engine with a Bosch pump.
If its the Lucas pump im thinking about on the DW8 engine then feeding the stop solenoid with 12v behind the tamper resistant plate wont do anything, all the circutry is sealed inside the solenoid itself. A lucas/delphi specialist might be able to supply a manual solenoid to replace it. Either that or a new solenoid kit from citroen at £210 + vat.
Can you post a pic of the pump ?

Were pushing the envelope here...Yesterday took a Bosch pump from an L reg 405 in the scrap yard and fitted it on.
Had to adjust the angles of the fuel pipes to get them to fit
Renew the flow and return fuel pipes
Change the pump housing and make new timing marks.

It works. ECU warning light is on the dashboard and this will be fixed by removing the bulb I'm sure Citroen would insist we use special tool 1A and remove the illuminary alerting module

Best price I had for a second hand pump was £300 which is crazy

Yes, used the original Lucas injectors as the Bosch ones had a different thread. Also had to turn some sort of vacuum thingy on top of the pump around 180º but it didnt affect the running.
Just finished the job and it runs sweet. I'm a very happy man.
