In some parts of the world there MUST be a seatbelt warning telling the driver that a seat is occupied but the belt is not in use.
When I was in the States back in '79 - all cars had a warning buzzer set off if you did not use the seatbelt.
This is made by using 2 sensor switches for each seat :
1 switch is operated by a steelwire under the cushion when there is a person in the seat. Another switch is operated when the seatbelt is drawn out of its spool.
Guess now I have set off some weekend projects ...
