Old Diesels and Todays New Car Tax Charges

Apparently has dodgy petrol fuel consumption that's worse than a good diesel...

Well, that's the impression I had after Top Gear did a fairly thorough hatchet job on it...

The bio diesel I use is locally produced from waste vegetable oil. In effect my carbon emissions are zero. Any carbon added to the atmosphere is removed by the next crop of rapeseed or whatever the oil was.

I use dino diesel made from dinosaurs. In effect my carbon emissions are zero. Any carbon added to the atmosphere is removed by the next crop of DINOSAURS or whatever....

On the subject of the new VED rates.

Can anyone name a car on sale in the UK today which fits into band A?

There are two cars, the Honda Insight mentioned above and the Smart Diesel.

Funnily enough I've never actually seen one of either car and they aren't listed in the back of the current issue of Top Gear either.

It said in the paper that of the 2 cars which would qualify - production ceased on one in 2002 ? and there were only 200approx in the country and the other isnt available here

There is a Hohum Insight on Autotrader's listing for £6.6k in silver and 3 Smart Diesels between £3-4k!! Don't all rush at once though!!

Im on Biodiesel too, rip off britain, especially when you take into account the greenness of manufacturing new cars, its the emperors new clothes all over again
