The headliner has finally let go.

Thankfully it's payday tomorrow so some headliner glue will be ordered.

That's the first Xantia I've ever known that to happen on James...

The V6 headliner is different, I assumed it was something to do with that.
Theres what looks like rust marks above the n/s rear passenger headrest, possibly when I take it out the cause will reveal itself in that area.
Or maybe they just ran out of glue and used Pritt Stick.

Whatever the cause I can thank the saggy headliner for being one of the reasons the car was sold at a price I could afford so it's a good problem.

It wasn't a job I was looking forward to with any excitement.

Cheered me up as well.
I'm off sick today and feeling quite wretched.
Don't get sick pay so actually taking a day off means I'm really bad, usually struggle on.
Trying to get better fast, Dad's coming for dinner tonight.
I've only seen him once in the last 8 months so really don't want to spoil or cancel it.

Anything to avoid glue has got to be a good idea... I hate the stuff and it always ends badly whenever I try to use the stuff...

I'm feeling better already, I think the long hours just caught up for a day.
Dad's keeping me busy visiting Beaulieu and HMS Victory so don't expect a reply until after the weekend.

Headliners can be such a pain. I took one down from my old 83 Station Wagon with the tropical roof.
Getting it back up was like wallpapering the ceiling in The Vatican......

I'm prity handy with Xantia ones, they go back in fairly easily as the backing is stiff fibreglass.
I've not actually taken one out of another car but I understand they can be a nightmare as you suggest.

Swapping a Xantia headlining is not too hard at all... One of the easier ones for sure and I don't see how a V6 one can be any different...
