NO, nothing to do with the blower fan.

Read this thread and you can see what others have done to fix their issues. It may not be the same problem, and remember - just because the left wiper is playing up, it does not mean that the issue is with the left wiper motor! These work in a master and slave relationship, so it may be the opposite (right) motor that has the issue as they coordinate with each other to avoid collision.

I changed the master wiper and still doesn t work, neither of them. If the slave wiper is broken, nor the master wiper souldn t work? Last time (2 years ago), I changed the master wiper and worked.

I obviously cannot answer that on a Forum. It needs to be diagnosed with Diagbox to determine which one is at fault and what the fault code (s) is showing to assist further.

Hi,
When looking at the pictures of your open wiper motor case, it seems that there is interference between the edge of the case and the magnet.

The position of the magnet on the motor shaft is sensed by the circuit board and should be in the correct position as it rotates.
Sorry can't help with the electrical connections.

You seem to have bad luck with your wiper motors.

Could this be caused by moisture entering the motor case?
Do you park your car under trees?
Just thinking dead leaves, pine needles etc, could cause dampness around and under the wiper motors and particularly in the area where the wiper arm shaft enters the motor case.

Given the age of your car there could be quite a build up of damp debris in the area beneath the valence under the wiper motors and is not a place you would expect to inspect or clean.

Hope that helps.
Andy.
If it can happen it will.

If the master is good it will operate if you unplug the slave. The slave won't operate without the master. Hope this helps. You do need to have it plugged in to check if there is anything else going on. Have you tried a bsi reset for the blower motor.

Hi I have problem with wipers on some day passenger side start doing weird things and I notice that happened when at some speed I turn left then wiper start jumping stopping and at the end both jammed or wiping without synchronisation .

VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I made digabox check and I get that reading

FF14 slave motor operation fault
FF1B wipers system mechanical jamming fault

on photos what I attached to post you can see that

So with one I should to check before I spend money for replacing the motors. Any chance to help?

Edit:

Fee hours later job done I take off passenger side part where all metal things was looking good I take opposite side off and I noticed that magnet was on wrong place so 2 drops of super glue and baking soda make miracle and motor back to life I save£ 200 if not more . Thank you .

Many members have managed to save the expense of replacing these, so well done on a repair. A good clean up and should be good for years. Just make sure you seal the units up well to avoid any water getting in as this is the killer.

Hi.
My first reply/post on the forum.

Helping a friend with his 2011 c5 and it has no wipers at all and the code is 0f1A (No lin com between motors) has checked both sides with picoscope and all signals are there.

The strange part is the scanner side of the story, i has an icarsoft cs ultra with topology and when i scanned it displays only 1 motor, cant remember the name for the module MOTEV maybe?, looked at a youtubeclip with lexia and there it shows 2 motors, (maybe a clue or a scanner issue).

However no codes in the wiper module but 01fA in the bsi.
When i go in the wipermotor the (MOTEV?) and look at module information it only shows a bunch of fffffffffffff in every line... partnumber, softwere nr, etc and in configuration it dosent show what drive car is, it was 2 values i forgot the second...it shows NO VALUES on both.

I looked at another similar c5 and that showed numbers in every line in moduleinfo and it knew wich drive the bloody thing was, however it only shows 1 motor when i scanned it.
This made me feel good enugh to buy a used master for 150€ and plugged that in...went in the moduleinfo and it show less fff (but still f:s thoug) it displayed partnr etc but still didnt know wich drive the car was,
did a bsi reset (or tryed to) and guess what now it shows only ffffffffff in moduleinfo, square 1.

Were do the motor gets its value from?
Can i do a soft coding maybe?
Why are the info gets erased?
Iam going to a friends friend who had a shop with a updated onlineconnected launch...pro stuff.

Any ideas someone?

Mattias.

My wipers died and I don't have any fault code/s.
There was no lead up to them not working. One moment both working without issue. Then nothing from either side.
Tried a BSI reset. Checked fuses.
Master unit appears to be original according to date stamp of August 2008.
Dissembled master unit on drivers side. It had already been apart. Gasket cement everywhere!
Good continuity on PCB and in motor. Brushes are pretty worn. All magnets firmly glued.
Motor armature slightly out of true.
The main spindle with the plastic toothed gear seems to partially seized.
An ideas anyone?
Or just bite the bullet and order a new one?
cheers :)

With this amount of wear I'd suggest replacing it - but with a used one you'll take a chance, as it may not be in any better condition.

Exactly what I was thinking Marc.
Is the lack of fault codes a common thing?
Thanks.

Fault codes will only present when there's an issue detected by the master or slave ECUs. Mechanical faults won't necessarily provide a code unless whatever the issue is triggers the ECU into providing one. Code readers other than a Lexia with Diagbox may not pick up constructor-specific codes.

Hello,
Just bought my this car and the wipers weren't working. The owner mentioned it, but I had no idea they were so expensive to fix (that was nice surprise :-D ). When I turn on the wipers, right side wiper twitches and that's it. I was wondering what is the most likely issue and is it likely that I won't need to replace the motors.

Just sort of scavenging for information here, gonna take the car to a guy to take a look, but want to make sure I know what's going on.

Thanks in advance incase anyone cares to answer.(It's nice to see that there's such a helping community here)
