Thanks to James I have just returned from Lidl with these:
MTMO
MTMO
The ratchet is much better quality than I expected and will make a decent breaker bar when extended, although that is not my intended use:

I am pleased with the contents of the oil pump box, all for a tenner, which will aid oil changes in engines with the inset sump plug issue!!

All in all well worth my aborted trip to Welwyn Garden City  , whose Lidl doesn't open until 11am, followed by my successful trip to Harlow where I found ample stock of both items. Thanks again James!! :-D

I've had one of the oil pumps for a few years now & it's a great bit of kit.
It's particularly useful for oil changes on my umpteen garden & agricultural machines where the drain plugs are invariably so close to the chassis etc the used oil runs everywhere but into the pan.
One tip.
The discharge pipe comes in a coil which is a pain as it springs everywhere so difficult to keep in waste container & is a swine to clear oil out of when finished. I used to wazz it around my head to clear it but finally cut the tube to a more sensible length, for my requirements, & straightened it by warming & hanging up with a bit of weight. It now hangs on barn wall to keep it straight.

Thanks for that Vic. I know what you mean as I had the same issue with my dipstick hole sucker's tube. That too hangs down the wall now, with a 35mm socket on the end, ready for action! :-D

I've got the exact same pump as pictured, haven't used it for oil changes as yet, but several goes pumping out diesel (a few times with the long winded C5 "runs for fraction of a second" saga and recently on the HDi Coupe when I found I had a leak when tank was full and it was jacked up high enough)

I used a "quite dead" car battery that is going for scrap (indicates about 8 volts) and the pump chugged along quite happily on that too.

That extendable ratchet looks good, might treat myself to one of those

Yes I'm impressed with the ratchet bearing in mind it was only 12 of your finest British pounds!! Ironically my old 1/2" drive ratchet threw a wobbly a week or so ago and will now only "ratchet" in anti clockwise mode so no good for doing things up. This couldn't have come up at a better time and was the main reason for my visit, the oil pump being a bonus because I was there!! :-D

Some interesting and tempting stuff there James.

Very little of which I would need.
Only the F clamps as I broke of of mine recently.

And Lidl is my go-to shop. Have recently been to Aldi, Morrisons and just today Asda.
All disappointing and expensive in comparison.
