I'd much rather be meeting for lunch than doing what I am doing - Gatwick run with a car full of moaners!! :)

Met too... Massive house clearance of junk and and rubbish is no fun, albeit satisfying in a cathartic sort of a way...

That said, I'd far rather be enjoying an FCF lunch :)

Magic! Really looking forward and I reckon, depending on progress today we should get it almost all done. All that will be left is a few hundred books and CDs to go to the charity shop...

I like those Neil... Always have an eye on a dramatic sky :)

This was the best I could do on Monday... Nothing yesterday as it was rainy and overcast!

Loving those reflections Neil :D I never noticed it in my picture until you did! My mind is too occupied with house clearance...

I decided it was time to have a clear out of my workshop, there was a guy advertising in the local free paper that he was buying so he came on Monday and bought a van load, looks a bit less crowded in there now but still plenty to go, he didn't want electrical stuff because it all has to be certified before he can sell it on.

Bit like me Eric, two Saxo-loads now gone to the tip and a Saxo-load gone to a charity shop and yet you'd never know just looking at my house and attic...

The real result is there's nothing now hiding in cupboards, drawers and dark corners of the attics ;)

This was today's tip haul... There's still much to go there...

And for the first time in 20 years, a quick look around my place reveals no signs I ever owned any Xantias

A close look will still find a couple of wishbones and a rear sub-frame growing at the bottom of the garden but those will soon be gone when I can arrange something a bit larger than a Saxo and some assistance to do the job....

Bird of the day.
Britain's most successful bird :?: Could be there are loads of them. The genuine Wood Pigeon aka the Ring Dove, or even Cushat in some Northerly parts, not prone to congregate on roofs like its more urban cousin, but well-adapted to 2023 and thriving. Very much part of the food chain too, I would have thought if I had the Sparrowhawk's attributes, Wood Pigeons must surely be the easiest substantial meal to catch. Nice plump target and relatively slow flying,

Image
August 9th 2023 the Sparrowhawk did indeed enjoy a substantial meal of perhaps even the very same Wood Pigeon featuring on POTD. Thud and commotion right outside the window, and a female Sparrowhawk was applying what turned out to be a slow coup de grace on the wood pigeon, before spending 10-15 minutes devouring the best bits leaving only feathers then carrying away the more manageable carcass to another place.

I will be indulging in one of them today and will hopefully have some good POTD material as a result ;)
