Forgot to mention 21 turns for both tie rods
The ones that came off passenger side 17mm nut
Driver side 15mm this side wasn't so bad but both sides were done and both are 17mm nuts

Each tie rod was counted as it was being turned and the 22mm lock nut was just cracked off as to give way so each rod could be unscrewed

Tie rods arrived 9.30 , both sides swapped out new ones in , 2008 now back on the road .

Next job was the drop link on passenger side that was taken care of the driver side was new , dont know why both side weren't done nothing to do with me that's more like who ever owned it before the torque wrench was used to set the correct tightening for the drop link and also the wheel nuts I can confirm the us pro wrench is easy to use feels smooth and effortless well worth the money

As above , so my passenger side has started to make them noises from the top mount but not creaking yet on full lock as its only been maybe 2 weeks, im wondering if that very hot weather may of contributed towards the failing mount . Sets ordered for both sides 34 quid mounts bearings nuts and so on.

Oh yes i saw that one after amd kicked myself butbm the one ive got its real bargin amd smoother to use you won't regret getting one it will pay for itself the first time you use it

Oh pooh its raining well 6 am was lovely but to early for me to do a repair on the 2008 however 1pm looks set fair onwards so might take wifey out for a treat as she's been feeling a bit off lately. Update to follow.

Finally its done and what a job the shock was well past its best the top mount wasn't bad but the rust on the bearing . Its all new now

Yes the one that came off it had been fitted wrong as you can see by the above the nut had to be cut off it was over toqureed and in the wrong place no wonder there was hardy any thread fir the actual top nut under bonnet bloody scarey that now its got everything in the correct place and everything is correctly toqured up aswell

Forgot to mention I had a beard new cup left over from a job ages back so this came in very usefull and is on the set up . So glad is all done I started at 9.30 as it did stop raining finished at 4 im wacked .im getting to old for this , its all the faff plus over half hour to set the tools up and put them away plus I had to repair my spring compressor the piston came out the housing so I spent 45 mins fixing that too...... im putting my feet up .

Vehicle Setup & Wheel Removal
Prerequisite
Park on level ground, apply the handbrake, and slacken the front wheel bolts slightly. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack, secure it safely on axle stands, and remove the front wheel.

Disconnect Anti-Roll Bar (Sway Bar) Link
Suspension clearance
Unbolt the upper ball joint of the drop link attached to the shock absorber strut. Use an Allen key to hold the inner stud if it spins while loosening the nut.

Detach ABS Sensor Wire & Brake Hose
Prevent wiring damage
Unclip the wheel speed / ABS sensor harness and flexi brake hose from their rubber retaining brackets mounted on the shock strut.

Separate Strut from Steering Knuckle (Hub)
Lower mounting bolts
Support the lower arm or brake assembly with a jack so it does not drop abruptly. Remove the two large pinch bolts/nuts securing the bottom of the shock absorber to the steering knuckle. Tap the bolts through with a soft mallet.

Remove Top Mount Nuts & Extract Strut
Under hood access
Open the bonnet. Locate the top strut mount housing in the engine bay. Remove the top retaining bolts/nuts while holding the shock strut from underneath so it does not drop. Lower the assembly out through the wheel arch.

Compress Spring & Disassemble Strut Assembly
Spring Compressor Required
Attach heavy-duty coil spring compressors to the spring coils and compress until spring tension is relieved from the upper seat. Hold the central strut piston shaft and remove the main top retaining nut, then lift off the top mount, bearing plate, and spring.

Reassemble Strut & Reinstall on Vehicle
Reverse procedure
Transfer the bump stop, dust cover, spring, and top mount/bearing onto the new shock absorber. Tighten the central nut, release the spring tension, and reverse the removal steps.
