Outside Temp Sensor Reading High

As the subject suggests, my outside temp reading is high. I know where the sensor is located and am wondering whether a replacement is required or there is some way I can fix the problem.

I don't know where the sensor is on the xsara, but on the XM and I think several others, it is in the bottom of the N/S door mirror. These sensors don't last very long, I have had to replace them in all my XMs.
